DESERT ISLAND 

A research in the desert island archetype


This work lingers in its various phases of pre and post production: the script, the stage, and the score. With this , it invites the viewer to engage in an exploration of the desert island archetype through play and meditation. The script is a composite of both fictional and factual desert island narratives, collaging existing texts and documents into a 6-act play featuring an isolated castaway. The play is founded on the recurrent elements of these borrowed narratives. It is supported by the open stage and accompanying desert island soundscape, made by removing all verbal dialogue from audio track of the film Castaway (2000).
